Version Tracker: Latest Version - New 1.0a Release
RubberwaLL provides a watertight anti-leech solution for your site.
All files are stored inside a password protected directory, which only the script can access. Upon receipt of a file request, RubberwaLL first validates the origin of the visitor - if they are not visiting from your site - then access is denied.
Once the visitor has been checked, the script logs into the folder, and loads the file into memory, before transparently serving it to the visitor. This means visitors CANNOT see the real address of your files, and even if they DID get hold of it, they could not access the files due to the password protection!
Files are opened by calling filescraper.php?serve=x, where x is the id number of the file, as set in the config files. These config files are heavily commented, and come with an extensive readme - so setup and use is a breeze!
For easy administration and security checks, everytime access is granted or denied, a line is written to a special log page - logging can of course be disabled.
All you need is a PHP enabled webserver - and .htaccess support is recommended to allow password protection (without .htaccess, script will still work perfectly, but should users ever guess the real address to your files (they cannot get it via the script), they can still leech your files).
Why should leechers inflate your bandwidth bill, or even get a free hosted site SHUT DOWN? Rubberwall is free - so try it now! |
